• Weekend Challenge Review•

I completely agree with the statement, “You can’t know where you’re going until you know where you’re at.” Evaluating where we are and deciding where to go next was our Weekend Challenge. We’ve done this a few times in our marriage, and I believe it is absolutely crucial. Sometimes I imagine marriage as being on a boat in the middle of the ocean surrounded by waves. It’s only you and your spouse in the boat and you each have an oar. If you don’t pick a direction you’ll be passively tossed by the waves of life. If you don’t pick the same direction and row together you won’t make it anywhere. This weekend my wife and I picked a direction and now we’re rowing hard!
Without delving into too much detail, my wife and I have planned to focus on school more than ever. We want to continue to our exercise routines and work towards getting 7 ½ hours of sleep per night. We had a lot of fun planning upcoming events and He Said She Said blog projects!

Things are in motion after our scheduled check up. Pierce and I took 30 minutes for a necessary conversation. We chatted about the fundamentals: school, our upcoming date weekend, plans for Christmas, and spring break 2010. I even presented my case for a wedding band upgrade…surprise Tiffany trip?? Probably not, Pierce constantly reminds me to be patience with this so maybe soon enough. It was great to talk about my school progress and hear what’s new in med school for him. We wrapped up our session knowing our personal lives and marriage are on the right track.
My weekend filled with great chats continued with ladies time. I finally went to see Tyler Perry’s: I Can Do Bad All By Myself. I had a fantastic time with my mom and sister. Our night ended with us laughing up a storm over yummy cheesecake a.k.a. my kryptonite. This past weekend was really great!
