How Men Should Shop or Pampered & Polished
Thursday, September 24th, 2009

I believe the best way for a man to shop is at a discount retailer (i.e T.J. Maxx, Marshals, or Burlington Coat Factory). Let me explain why. #1 – It’s cheap. Spending $15 on pants instead of $50 saves $35 which is worth a week of $5 Foot Longs at Subway. It’s almost like getting a free lunch and I don’t know a man who says no to a free lunch. #2 – It’s quick. Discount retailers have everything in one place: dress shirt, workout clothes, ties, jeans, socks, winter coats, and underwear (you can buy pillows for the couch too but my advice is to avoid that part of the store). #3 – It’s a challenge. Discount retailer shopping can be like finding a needle in a haystack. When you find the shirt that fits you perfectly at a clearance price you get to leave the store not only looking sharper but also with the shout…VICTORY!

A vibrating chair. Relaxing music. Scrub, then a massage. Complete with a polish of my choice. Now…that will be $50 please…oh and don’t forget the tip. I love salon pampering but not the price. That’s why this summer I decided to pamper and polish myself. Since crusty feet are never sexy, I can soak and scrub as much as I please for pennies at home. When my bathroom pedicure is complete I make a mental tally of what would have been spent at the salon. Right now the savings is about $450. The added reward also comes when Pierce and I have the unspent cash to do something extra nice together.
