I Guess She Does Have To Claim Me or Fresh, Folded, and Neat
Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

I apologize for not taking a picture, but last night while shaving I initially left a goatee. I’ve never tried having facial hair and wanted to give it a shot. I’ll admit, it wasn’t the best looking thing ever but it had potential. Too bad wifey shot me down quick. I begged and pleaded but to no avail. She said I looked sleazy and it had to go. I acquiesced, but still wonder if I should have kept it. In marriage, who should make the final decisions on personal appearance…the individual or the spouse? In the end, I’m glad I didn’t keep the goatee. I guess she does have to claim me.

I went downstairs in our basement yesterday and realized something huge…laundry was a beast! I made it my mission for the day to conquer the mess and finish the day with empty baskets. I must admit I rather enjoy doing laundry. I can remember the time Pierce and I were in laundromats for hours so now heading to the basement comes with a certain joy. I am proud to report that my mission was accomplished shortly after dinner. It’s a great feeling to know things are fresh, folded, and neatly put away at the end of a busy day.
Wifey always loves to see me with a goatee but about a year ago she let me in on a little secret about facial hair. She told me that if you look at most executives or board members in the corporate world the majority of men wear no facial hair. Ever since then I’ve stayed clean shaven (except the lazy weekends) and I’ve already seen one promotion….go figure.
